Core trust feature

Confidential Mode

Confidential Mode is how CiteSafe protects client narrative by default — not an afterthought.

What it is

Your draft stays in the browser. Only public citation strings leave for verification.

  • ON by default — you do not opt in to protect narrative
  • Cite-only: citations extracted in your browser before anything is checked
  • Full memo text is not sent unless you deliberately arm Full document
  • CiteSafe does not store verify request bodies in a product database
  • We do not train public generative models on your drafts by default
  • Beta history stays in your browser until firm accounts ship

What we never claim

  • Uploading does not create attorney–client privilege with CiteSafe
  • CiteSafe is not your law firm and does not form an attorney–client relationship
  • Browser storage is not immune to malware, shared computers, or device seizure
  • Third-party indexes may log citation query strings (public authorities only while Confidential Mode is on)
  • No SOC 2 Type II claim until independently audited

Full document (exit path)

Full document mode requires double confirmation (checkbox + type SEND FULL). Prefer Confidential Mode for privileged drafts.
